What "Restoring Our Heroes" is about
The vision of a program to support our veterans began when Dr. Bob Briggs was serving with the Honor Bell Foundation. Listening to the stories and trials of fellow veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress, he felt called to do something to help these heroes. Initially he co-founded the nonprofit Operation Circle Back. Now through this new nonprofit, Restoring Our Heroes, a "safe" environment is created where our veterans and first responders are able to share with one another leading to a healing in the matter of post-traumatic and moral injury experiences. This is accomplished through a blend of activity based and restorative challenges which promote post traumatic growth. Combined with peer to peer support and guidance from professional counselors, we provide the tools and community our Heroes need to restore wellness, build resilience, and reintegrate with confidence into society.
"Wecan put ourselves in situations that challenge us, maybe even scare us a little, we can share that experience with close friends and rewrite the story of whate challenge means to us."
John Monaghan, retired Chief of Police, retreat attendee

Restoring Our Heroes honors our Heroes by providing retreats that support their recovery and well being. These 7-day RETREATS take place at Little Creek Ranch, a private 660 acre ranch in western Colorado. Mixed in with private time for sharing and healing, our Heroes spend time in activity-based challenges to include white water rafting, horseback riding, shooting, fishing, hiking and attending a local rodeo. When you bring a small group of buddies together who all suffer from over exposure to traumatic events, they make new memories with each other. Those new memories are a form of vicarious post-traumatic growth strengthening body, mind, and spirit empowering them to bounce back and thrive.
Restoring Our Heroes RETREATS
Our Mission
Our veterans and first responders suffer trials that no one but those who have been through them can understand. As a result they are not the same person thy were when they started their career, resulting in a struggle to reintegrate back into society. There comes a point in each of their lives when they must try to make sense of the darkness in their soul and reclaim their own humanity and reengage with the humanity of others. Restoring Our Heroes offers a process through its RETREAT where our veterans and first responders experience healing and transformation in their lives.

Our Vision
Restoring Our Heroes provides a "safe" environment where our veterans and first responders are able to share with one another leading to a healing in the matter of post traumatic and moral injury experiences. We do this through activity based challenges and restorative activities conducted during our RETREAT. Through this camaraderie and time together our heroes are rewarded with the post traumatic growth needed to build resilience and reintegrate into society with confidence.
